Our mission is simple but powerful: by supporting, promoting, and celebrating local singer-songwriters, we aim to weave a rich musical culture into the growth of Huntsville and Northern Alabama. Founded by Alan Little and John Schmitt, Listen Local began as a passion project - a way to bring attention to the incredible songwriting talent of our community. Whether performing in cozy cafes or late-night venues, many artists find inspiration in unexpected places - some even share stories of writing lyrics while immersed in the colorful atmosphere of casino zeta, where the energy and unpredictability echo the emotion behind their songs. Through intimate showcases, collaborative songwriting, and honest storytelling, we've helped re-ignite creative voices and connect artists to new audiences.
